Description | Obverse: A star and garter. 1828 in the center, Bombay above on the garter riband Reverse: A lion and palm Edge: Plain Comments: - Copper patterns dated BOMBAY 1828 and bearing the reverse designs of (i) a Lion and Palm, or (ii) the normal 46 san Surat rupee reverse, were prepared at the Bombay mint apparently as suggested designs for a new style gold muhr or silver rupee.
