Commemorative issue: Native American $1 Coin Act Obverse: Sacagawea (1788-1812), with child. She was a Shoshone native american. She was an translator and a guide to the Lewis and Clark expedition. Reverse: Hiawatha Belt and five arrows bound together representing unity with the inscription "Haudenosaunee", a synonym for the Iroquois Confederacy meaning "People of the Longhouse". Edge: Engraved with date and both mottos Positions A and B on Presidential and Sacagawea Dollars.
